Dog Boarding

The Canine Retreat

R180 per dog per night

Every dog checks into a weatherproof timber cabin with a shaded porch for lazing, a real bed with sterilised blankets, and a private garden of its own. Social dogs – with your permission – spend their days on the big shady communal lawns.

  • Cosy cabins with a choice of beds; family dogs can share one cabin
  • Private garden per cabin, plus a large shady communal garden for social guests
  • Infrared heat lamps for cold evenings and older companions
  • Easy-clean finishes for meticulous hygiene; bring your own bedding if you like
  • Home diets followed and medication administered – a vet is on call throughout

How many dogs fit comfortably in one cabin depends on their size – we'll confirm what's kindest when you book.

Good to Know

Questions pet parents ask.

Can my cats share a suite?

Yes – our super-sized family suites (3 m long × 3 m high × 2 m) sleep up to five cats from the same family. Only cats from the same household ever share, and sneeze barriers keep neighbouring guests safely apart.

Will my dog mix with other dogs?

Every dog has its own weatherproof cabin and private garden. Social dogs can join the large shady communal garden during the day – but only with your permission.

What does my parrot need to arrive in?

Parrots board in their own cage from home – familiar perches lower stress. Cages with stands are recommended because days are spent in the secure outdoor garden. If your cage can't travel, rental cages are available at R10 per night.

What must I bring?

Proof of up-to-date vaccinations (shown at check-in), booster dates for dogs and cats, and any prescription or special diets. Favourite toys and your own bedding are welcome.

How does payment work?

A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your booking and the balance is due on arrival. Pay cash on arrival, or by EFT beforehand – please email or bring proof of payment.

Can we look around before booking?

Please do – we encourage it. Viewings are by appointment so every visit gets our full attention. Call 082 458 7557 to arrange a time.

Ready to book their stay?

Tell us your dates and who's coming – we'll confirm availability and take it from there.

Viewings by appointment are always welcome before you decide.
