Kim Praschma founded Purrfect in 2013 – and lives right here on the estate, so your pets are never alone on the property. When you board with Purrfect, you're leaving your best friend with a respected animal-husbandry expert who has dedicated her whole life to the well-being of animals.
From 47 hectares to 10 acres
Kim grew up in the 1960s and 70s roaming a 47-hectare family estate with her Border Terrier at her heels – a childhood that taught her animals thrive on space, routine and calm. In 2013 she invested her personal savings to build Purrfect from scratch in the Farmall agricultural area: oversized, climate-controlled suites and secure timber cabins, designed by her for maximum comfort and minimum stress.
Show-ring standards, home-style love
Kim is the custodian of the legendary Sunduza Bull Terriers line, and breeds and exhibits English Bull Terriers, Irish Wolfhounds and Miniature Long-haired Dachshunds to Kennel Union of Southern Africa (KUSA) standards. That world demands a working command of animal psychology, pack dynamics, dietary needs and conditioning – and every boarding guest at Purrfect benefits from it. Clients sometimes spot her formal title, Countess KMT Praschma, in the breeding registries; around here she's simply Kim.
Vet-informed care
Kim's daughter, Dr Tamarin Praschma BVSc MRCVS, is an internationally accredited veterinary surgeon with specialised training in animal nutrition from the University of Pretoria. Her influence runs through the hotel's protocols: meticulous hygiene, customised diets, precise medication management, infrared heating for geriatric or recovering pets, and careful, safe socialisation.
